2024 Application Guidelines
ACADEMY FEES
The fee for Southeastern Law Enforcement Explorer Academy is $200.00 per explorer and $200.00 per advisor. Individual reservations for explorers/cadets will only be accepted until the Academy housing has reached its capacity. To be a confirmed participant, the total fees with Individual registration/medical forms must be submitted before Academy capacity is reached. Cadets will be housed at the location of the academy. Staff and Advisors will be housed at “to be announced.”
POST RESERVATIONS
The Post Reservation Form must be submitted through Southeastern Law Enforcement Explorer Academy for approval prior to the deadline date of May 31st, 2024. The original forms should be completed and mailed to the Southeastern Law Enforcement Explorer Academy, 170 Porter Ave. Biloxi, MS 39530.
INDIVIDUAL PARTICIPANT FEES
The process for transmittal of individual participant payments will be included in your confirmation packet. All applications are due by May 31st, 2024. Incomplete applications will delay the registration of your Post. 100 % of individual registration fees must be received by May 31st, 2024. Partial payments will not be accepted.
REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY
The Post reservation form will initially be used to guarantee housing until May 31st, 2024, or until Academy registration has reached capacity. Individual refunds will be refunded at 100% until May 17th, 2024. Because of expenses incurred by the Academy and the military base, we are not able to refund the individual registrations if the Post does not attend the Academy. After May 17th, 2024, individual participant registrations may be swapped, male for male or female for female only. All refund requests must be submitted in writing and meet the deadline requirements of May 17th, 2024.
ADULT LEADERS (ADVISERS)
All Posts must have adult leaders 21 years of age or older who are approved by their participating organization head and. Coed Posts must have coed leadership 21 years of age or older in attendance at the Academy. Adult leaders will at all times be responsible for their Post members and must adhere to the Academy Code of Conduct and the Rules & Regulations. Do not send explorers to the Academy without adequate/proper leadership.
Advisors must provide the Academy Command Post with all contact information – lodging & phone numbers, etc. – should the Advisor have to be contacted in the event of an emergency or discipline problem when they are away from the Academy. There will be a contact form provided at check-in.
SPOUSES
Spouses who attend the Academy with the Advisors or Adult participants must also fill out an application and it must be submitted with the Advisor’s or Adult participant’s application along with $170.00 registration fee by May 31st, 2024. Spouses will not be provided t-shirts or hats. This fee includes identification to access Military Base, the Academy facilities and the cookouts on Wednesday and Thursday.
ACCOMMODATION & MEALS
The Southeastern Law Enforcement Explorer Academy will provide housing and meals for Advisors, adult participants and spouses Locations will be announced. Note: Housing is limited and is provided first come first serve, also there is a chance Advisor and Staff could have a roommate
